Racepumps Fuel Pump & Regulator For Blow-Through-Carb Forced-Induction Engines

There are basically two ways to use a carburetor on a turbocharged or supercharged engine: “draw-through�? or “blow-though�?. The draw-through system puts the turbo or blower downstream of the carburetor, which simplifies carburetor tuning but can create tremendous intake vacuum if the throttle butterfly closes while on boost, which can actually suck motor oil past the turbo/blower seals and into the intake. Also, the draw-through arrangement cannot use an intercooler due to fuel condensation and raw fuel often puddles in the turbo or supercharger. The blow-though method places the turbo or supercharger upstream of the carburetor, which allows the use of an intercooler, keeps fuel out of the turbo/blower and has no vacuum issues, however it makes fuel delivery and tuning difficult due to the boost resisting or even reversing fuel flow within the carburetor.
